Rules of the Networking Group
The Mt. Eliza Business Networking Group at all times will apply itself to the
rules of the Consumer Affairs Victoria - Associations Incorporation ACT 1981.
Here are 6 additional rules which are within the rules of the Associations Incorporation ACT 1981.
1. Payments
A. Mt.Eliza Business Networking Group Membership fees & the 10 monthly function entrance
fees will be due and payable at the start of every year - As of the 1st of January , it is $150 for the year of 2011.
B. Membership deadline is before the first function of the year.
C. The group may accept memberships after this deadline: if there is a new member -
their cost will be $50 membership plus whatever functions are left - $10 per function.
D. Any additional members from the same business only pays $10 entry fee for each event they attend.
E. Non Members cost is $25 per function and if they become a member on the first night
(or before their second function), we will deduct $15 off the membership cost.
F. First Timers only pay $10 and not $25 for their first visit - This rule is only on trial until the committee confirm if this is a rule.
G. The annual fee and non members fee may increase or decrease in future years,
determined by vote, by the Mt.Eliza Business Networking Group Committee.
2. Advertising
Only Members will be allowed to have their business details or be able to advertise on the
group’s newsletter and only Committee Members shall be allowed to advertise on the website.
3. Functions function times
A. Mt. Eliza Business Networking Group will have their 10 functions of the year on the 3rd wednesday of every month
From February until November from 6pm until 8.30pm.
B. It will be Mt. Eliza Business Networking Group’s full intention not to have
their functions on at the same time as any other local networking groups.
4. Members
Mt. Eliza Business Networking Group’s committee can dissolve a member from
the group, if the member is not acting to the following standards.
A. Hasn’t acted honestly or hasn’t upheld the ethical standards of their profession.
B. Has acted in appropriately to another member or members.
A decision will be decided by a vote by the committee of the
Mt. Eliza Business Networking Group for each case.
5. Hosting a function
A.Only members who have attended the majority of the functions for the last year,
can host a monthly function. This will be on the approval from the committee.
B. If a member is hosting a function at their business premises or home, then the
Mt. Eliza Business Networking Group will subsidize the function by $10 per member or non member.
This does not include staff or guests of the host.
C. If a member is hosting a function at a function venue - ie: Canadian Bay Hotel / Brooklands Best Western.
the group will give an amount of $10 per head to the hosting member.
This is for each non member or member who attends the function. If there is a difference in the price, the hosting
member will need to pay the difference. Any staff will be charged at a member rate and for a guest speaker or
speakers, the group will pay $10 for each speaker, any difference, the hosting member will have to pay.
6. A. Mt.Eliza Business Networking Group is a not profit organization.
B. Mt.Eliza Business Networking Group will use it’s member’s membership and entrance fee
to provide to it’s members, the best opportunity to network amongst other members or businesses.
All the rules of the Associations Incorporation ACT 1981
and the additional 6 rules were presented to the committee of the
Mt.Eliza Business Networking Group on the 4th May 2011, with all agreeing
with everything indicated above.
